At the club, it can be fun and exciting… or it can get weird.
This short comic is about a girl who’s really unhappy with her night out at a noisy club — and whose evening ends with something far from pleasant.
When the theme for the zine, “Noise and Murk,” was chosen, I decided to start not from a specific image, but from a place that naturally evokes those associations. Where is it noisy and murky? Of course, in a club. That’s how the story came about an ordinary girl who goes out to party, but the night goes wrong from the start: there’s noise, a crowd, and some shady guys around. And, as club nights often do, it all ends up in the bathroom.
In my work, the theme “Noise and Murk” is expressed more through storytelling than visuals.
